Anti-bacterial soap will  be your best friend when healing the piercing. After cleaning with regular soap, see to it that you use anti-bacterial soap to wash your belly button to kill germs that can cause infections. Wait a few seconds after lathering and let the soap sit before rinsing it carefully.

Using Epsom salts can help avoid infections. Mix 1/4 - 1/2 a teaspoon of seasalt soaks with a cup of warm water and apply it onto your piercing. Allow it to sit for 10 to 12 minutes before rinsing it off. Gently clean the piercing with a q-tip and the surrounding area with a wet cotton pad. See to it that this is done two times a day.

Vitamin C-rich foods and juices are great in aiding faster wound healing. So take a lot of vitamin C, both in natural foods and in supplements.

On the occasion you clean your navel, make sure that you squeeze out the pus in the woundand wipe it off with a clean cotton ball or a q-tip.

Make sure that you wear easy breathing clothing that will not rub against your new diamond piercing and will allow your piercing to breathe.

Because it's around the waist area, you have to be careful with pants, belts, shirts, etc. You must, also be careful when you bend at the waist. You wouldn’t want your diamond belly ring to be caught on your shirt.
